Porn In Advertising (Dolce and Gabbana and American Apparel)

In my last blog I touched on the subject of sex in advertising. Sex sells! The majority of ads today sell their products and services by emphasizing on the idea of sex. Okay, you'll buy a Revlon red lipstick because you like how the color looks on your lips-that's the conscious mind talking right there! But in sub-conscious your buying that red lipstick because you think it makes you more sexy and attractive. All the guys will turn their heads for you and the chances of you getting laid tonight with incredible sex is high! Sex Sex Sex-that's all we think about and want! Dolce and Gabbanna have been putting out very controversial ads involving images that seems like a "gang bang" and even "a rape scene". Many people were outraged buy these ads but as much controversy it created-Dolce and Gabbana are still selling and profiting. Doesn't that say something about what the "majority" of consumers actually think about these ads?

Then I came across these new ads put out by American Apparel!

Ladies and Gents Porn have entered mainstream advertising!

American Apparel is a one of the biggest clothing company in America with CEO Dov Charney. Now this billion dollar company is merging with the porn industry inviting some of the biggest porn stars to advertise their apparel. In the second posted ad here from American Apparel-they've managed to get one of the biggest emerging porn star Sasha Grey.

With porn entering mainstream advertising-I have a feeling pretty soon porn ads are going to not only sell us that "cum shot" but also a pair of denim jeans with a hand bag and matching accessories to go with it! Sex with style!
